Course description

This 2-day course is designed for otolaryngology residents who would like to start and further develop their skills in the treatment of patients with hearing loss, acute otitis media, and chronic otitis media. Using a combination of lectures, videos, and hands-on cadaveric instruction, the faculty will present the latest surgical techniques, including innovations in ossicular chain reconstruction, cochlear implantation, bone conduction hearing device implantation, mastoid surgery, and more.

Course objectives

• Perform intact canal wall mastoidectomy and canal wall down mastoidectomy
• Perform implantation of a bone conduction hearing implant
• Perform implantation of an active middle ear implant
• Perform implantation of a cochlear implant
• Complete an intratemporal facial nerve dissection
• Perform labyrinthectomy
